Air Force Undersecretary Erin Conaton has urged airmen to come forward and share their ideas on how the Defense Department could be more efficient in how its conducts its business, USAF officials announced, Aug, 24, 2010. Defense Secretary Robert Gates wants to shed more than $100 billion worth of excess overhead over five years starting in Fiscal 2012. Toward that end, DOD has created an INVEST program that gives military personnel the chance to offer their input. Conaton encouraged airmen to participate in INVEST, which offers prizes for the best ideas. Here, Conaton speaking with Lt. Gen.
