The first HC-130J combat rescue tanker destined for the Air Force made its first flight from Lockheed Martin's aircraft assembly facility in Marietta, Ga., on July 29, 2010, according to the company. This is the first of the Air Force's new HC-130Js that will replace Air Combat Command's fleet of 40-year-old HC-130s. Lockheed anticipates delivering this aircraft, shown here upon liftoff during its maiden flight, to the Air Force in September 2010. ACC is expected to begin operating the HC-130Js in 2012.
