Cyber Shuffle: The Air Force on Monday realigned both the Air Force Communications Agency and Air Force Frequency Management Agency under the administrative control of Air Force Space Command. The moves are part of the overall reorganization of the service’s cyber forces under AFSPC withinthe new 24th Air Force. Both AFCA and AFFMA were formerly field operating agencies under the Office of Warfighting Integration in the Air Force Secretariat. The Air Force expects to announce the final cyberspace structure later this year, including the selection of 24th AF’s preferred permanent headquarters location from among six locations. AFSPC Commander Gen. Robert Kehler met with members of AFCA at the agency’s headquarters at Scott AFB, Ill, on May 4 to discuss that agency’s move. "This is a significant day because it means you have a major-command advocate and authority to help you as we move toward the one Air Force, one network goal," Kehler said. He said AFCA will remain the service’s center of excellence—for network integration—and its members will remain communications experts under AFSPC and not be diluted with the generic label as cyber warriors.
