The 35th Fighter Wing at Misawa AB, Japan, called for some assistance from Air National Guard F-16 mechanics when it ran short of maintainers in February 2009 because some were on a routine deployment to South Korea and others on recuperation leave from an Iraq deployment. The Air Guard dispatched 31 maintainers from units in California, Indiana, New York, and South Carolina, who will wrap up their work at the end of March 2009. Here, TSgt.
