A contingent of 14 F-22s and support personnel departed Holloman AFB, N.M., to return home to Elmendorf AFB, Alaska, March 3, 2009. The fighters spent two weeks at Holloman as a precautionary measure to stay a safe distance from Mount Redoubt, an active volcano near Elmendorf that could erupt based on its recent seismic activity.
