The Tennessee Air National Guard’s 164th Airlift Wing conducted the first ever flight of a C-5 transport running on a synthetic fuel blend in a test over the skies of Memphis, Jan. 13, 2009. The Air Force wants its entire fleet cleared to operate on this fuel mix by 2011. Here, SSgt. Marques Presley, of the wing's 164th Maintenance Squadron, walks over to investigate personnel near the restricted area surrounding one of the unit's C-5s while SSgt. Cory Hill stays near the aircraft during an operational readiness inspection at the Combat Readiness Training Center in Alpena, Mich., June 20, 2007.
