Aircraft maintainers deployed to Andersen AFB, Guam, from Minot AFB, N.D., trained during December 2008 in launching B-52H bombers under a quick-start method that enables to the aircraft to get airborne within 10 minutes to respond to an emergency. Under normal conditions, it takes about one hour to launch the venerable bomber.
