Rep. John Murtha (D-Pa.) still believes the only way the Air Force will get a new tanker program started is to split the initial buy between competitors Boeing and Northrop Grumman. He says recapitalizing the USAF tanker fleet, which serves the joint force, is more important now as the US shifts focus from Iraq back to Afghanistan.
