Wyatt Takes over Air Guard: Lt. Gen. Harry M. Wyatt III was promoted to lieutenant general during a ceremony yesterday in the Pentagon and formally took the leadership reins of the Air National Guard. Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Norton Schwartz and Air Force Gen. Craig McKinley, chief of the National Guard Bureau, pinned Wyatt with his third star. “I’m humbled to be here and ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work,” said Wyatt, who previously served as Adjutant General of the Oklahoma National Guard. Then-President Bush nominated him for the post in November to replace McKinley who took over the NGB that same month. The Senate confirmed Wyatt in December. (NGB report by Army SSgt. Jon Soucy)
