The Air Force issued a request for information to industry on Dec. 17, 2009, seeking input on the in-production, non-developmental helicopters available that could meet the performance attributes laid out for the Common Vertical Lift Support Platform, the replacement to the service's Vietnam War-era UH-1N Huey helicopters. The Air Force wants up to 93 new platforms, with the first operational unit ready no later than September 2015.
