Building Northern Ties: Ten airmen from Air Force Reserve Command’s 512th Airlift Wing at Dover AFB, Del., flew one of the base’s C-17s to Canada to visit members of the Royal Canadian Air Force's active duty 8 Wing at Canadian Forces Base Trenton, Ontario, from Aug. 22-24. The trip was meant to initiate joint training opportunities in flying, aerial port operations, airlift control, and maintenance procedures. As part of this, the two wings are exploring a sister squadron arrangement between Dover’s 326th Airlift Squadron and Trenton’s 429 Transport Squadron, both of which operate C-17s. "The program will allow our crews and unit personnel to exchange unclassified tactics, techniques, and procedures while building camaraderie with our Canadian allies," said Lt. Col. Craig LaFave, 326th AS commander. The Reserve wing’s next trip to Canada is planned for Sept 12. (Dover report by Capt. Marnee A.C. Losurdo)
