Defense analyst Loren Thompson of the Lexington Institute takes the Obama Administration to task in a new issue brief criticizing plans to end C-17 production at just 205 aircraft. It's the only aircraft, he writes, that will be able to quickly haul heavy Army fighting vehicles to forward locations, and it's continued heavy use in current operations puts the long-term future of just 205 aircraft in jeopardy.
