According to The Hill, the Office of the Secretary of Defense plans to curtail another aircraft program—the C-27J Joint Cargo Aircraft. The Army would be cut out, leaving the Air Force with 38 out of an original buy of 78 aircraft. If true, the plan is likely to take fire from the powerful National Guard Caucus, governors, and Adjutant Generals.
