A WC-130J Hercules weather-monitoring aircraft from Air Force Reserve Command’s 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron takes off from Keesler AFB, Miss., on Aug. 30, 2008, completing the evacuation of these aircraft from the base prior to the arrival of then-Hurricane Gustav on Sept. 1. The WC-130Js have been tracking the progress of Gustav and, as of, Aug. 31, 2008, began monitoring Tropical Storm Hannah as it neared the US.
