Credit Rating: The US Air Force Special Operations School at Hurlburt Field, Fla., has been granted candidacy status with the Community College of the Air Force, meaning that enlisted students attending the former will automatically receive credits towards their CCAF degree for courses taken after April 15, 2008. "We are trying to get the word out that this is an opportunity to take advantage of, especially for our own airmen here at Hurlburt," said Col. Paul Harmon, the school’s commandant. School officials hope that the chance to earn CCAF credits will increase the enrollment of AFSOC airmen. Candidacy status came after USAFSOS met the Air University's board of visitors’ requirements. Fifteen courses are now approved for CCAF credits and three instructor qualification courses are awaiting approval. The school may operate for one full year before receiving full affiliation status. (Hurlburt report by Jeremy Webster)
