Fact vs. Rumor in Georgia: The head of the Warner Robins Air Logistics Center, Maj. Gen. Tom Owen, told hundreds of WRALC employees and some community leaders at a Commander's Call earlier this week that no one is trying to put the Georgia center "out of business," reports Gene Rector of The Telegraph. Owen planned to hold additional gatherings to get his message to the entire workforce. He wanted to assure folks that the good work now being done by ALCs has not gone unnoticed. He discounted a recent problem on an Air Force Materiel Command evaluation of the center, saying the inspectors "found lots of good things" and that he expects to better in a repeat inspection in February. Some center personnel have expressed concern about plans for staffing management changes and consolidation of some operations. And, some lawmakers already think that USAF will close at least one of its three remaining depots.
