A Very Busy Six Days: Airmen of Air Force Reserve Command’s 944th Medical Squadron at Luke AFB, Ariz., just returned from a humanitarian mission, seeing more than 3,700 patients in six days. The demand for their attention was high because in Morocco, the location of the recently concluded African Lion 2007, the poor have essentially no access to medical care. SSgt. Susan Stout, spokesperson for the 944th, told the Daily Report that the unit’s medics, along with a few other US military personnel, provided limited exams for the local people and distributed 5,803 pharmaceuticals. Optometry medics taught patients about using sunglasses to prevent eye disabilities and gave out 833 pairs of donated eyeglasses. (Continued)
