A CSAR-X Quandary: The Air Force has asked the Government Accountability Office to release more of its review of the original combat search and rescue helicopter replacement program award. Kenneth Miller, special assistant to Air Force Secretary Michael Wynne, told Rebecca Christie of Reuters news service, that the Air Force believes the report could “give a clear understanding” of the GAO finding that only one aspect of the award to Boeing was at issue when it upheld protests by Lockheed Martin and Sikorsky. USAF believes the full GAO reports could answer concerns expressed by Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and other lawmakers. However, the companies involved have asked GAO to redact certain information before releasing it—the GAO is working on that.
