No Slowdown at Eielson: As the News Miner reports, the loss of its A-10s has not affected the construction plans at Eielson AFB, Alaska. The base just flew its last Warthog flight last month, in preparation for sending the aircraft off to Moody AFB, Ga. Meanwhile, the Alaskan base has new housing under construction, as well as a new base exchange and fitness center among other refurbishments. Eielson is also home to Alaska's first aggressor unit, as its F-16 force learns the basics of playing the enemy during the four Red Flag-Alaska exercises set for each year.
