While Stateside Reservists Tried Hawaii: Airmen from three Air Force Reserve Command civil engineering units pitched in on a readiness project designed to provide a 40-acre complex to serve elderly, disabled, and disadvantaged residents of Hawaii’s north short. Members of the 908th Civil Engineer Squadron, Maxwell AFB, Ala., worked the first two weeks of the eight-week project. They were followed by Reservists of the 931st CES at McConnell AFB, Kan., who took two back-to-back rotations. Reservists from the 302nd CES, Peterson AFB, Colo., finished up the last two weeks. The complex they built is called Aloha Gardens.
