It’s Dangerous Out There: Lightheartedness aside, Americans do believe that the world is more dangerous today than in times past, according to a new survey by The Gallup Poll. The July 21-23 poll found that 76 percent of Americans say the world is more dangerous, compared to 20 percent that say things haven’t changed. Dissecting these views, Gallup pollsters found that more women (83 percent) than men (67 percent) conclude life is more dangerous. They also found that such dire straits thinking goes up based on age, with those 65 years old and up (82 percent) overwhelmingly concluding that the world is more dangerous. Still, more than half of Americans 18 to 29 years old (66 percent) would agree.
