Internal Audit Points To Security Lapses On Surplus Equipment: Air Force Audit Agency reports obtained by the Deseret (UT) Morning News say the Ogden Air Logistics Center at Hill AFB, Utah, OK’d the sale of surplus equipment without ensuring it was clear of sensitive information or parts. The problem, according to the auditors, is that the Hill ALC equipment specialists did not use proper codes to indicate the equipment needed to be “demilitarized.” Ogden officials told the Morning News in a statement, that ALC personnel had researched and cleared the items. The audit report also cited the ALCs at Robins AFB, Ga., and Tinker AFB, Okla., as well as Lackland AFB, Tex., for similar problems.
