Sunnis Not Happy: Iraq’s Sunni Arabs overwhelmingly reject the new Iraqi government, think its okay to attack US and coalition forces, and believe their country is heading in the wrong direction, according to a poll conducted by the Program on International Policy Attitudes in January. The survey found that 92 percent of surveyed Sunnis said the new Iraqi government would be illegitimate, while 80 percent of the same group said they approved of attacks on US forces. When the poll rolled in other Iraqi groups, the number dropped to 47 percent. Ah, well. At least two-thirds of all Iraqis surveyed believe America plans to station its military forces in the country permanently.
