Four-Year Land Effort Nears End: Officials of the city of Warner Robins, Ga., believe the land swap with the state they started four years ago to gain control of 544 acres on the northern edge of Robins AFB, Ga., is at hand, reports the Macon (Ga.) Telegraph. The city wants to develop an aerospace industrial park, providing capability to handle potential military aircraft maintenance work. The city, in turn, will turn over 333 acres of city property to the state. The hold-up in the deal was the federal stipulation that the city property had to be developed for public recreational purposes—which the city completed last year.
