Eielson Melds Active, Guard Security Forces: Security Forces personnel at Eielson AFB, Alaska, are working toward greater Total Force integration with the opening of a new 39,000-square foot facility to house both the active duty 354th Security Forces Squadron and the Alaska Air National Guard 168th SFS. Called “Defender’s Hall,” the facility enables the two units to consolidate training and enhances communications, said Maj. Roy Godfrey, commander of the 354th SFS. Another Eielson unit that has integrated is the 354th Fighter Wing command post, who brought in the ANG command post operations over a month ago. MSgt. Steven Guyton, superintendent of the 168th Air Refueling Wing CP, said integration will lead to bolstered manning numbers as well as enhanced expeditionary efforts.
