Train to Fight: The Air Force’s top uniformed official has high expectations for a training transformation the service is planning. Gen. Michael Moseley explained to a Capitol Hill crowd that the Air Force already has extended basic training two and a half weeks to provide combat training and plans to hold more combat-prep exercises across the force. The goal is to develop a more expeditionary mindset for every airman in the total force. The agenda includes, starting in August 2007, language and regional skills training for every airman going through senior professional military education programs. The options will be Arabic, Chinese, French, and Spanish.
