The Chief’s Highly Interesting Reading List: USAF’s new Chief of Staff, Gen. Michael Moseley, is continuing the professional reading list tradition started in 1996 by Gen. Ronald Fogleman. He has released his first list, which focuses on history. Subsequent lists, said Moseley, will lead readers from “our past to our future horizons.” The most interesting thing about Moseley’s list is the fact that three of them concern Billy Mitchell, the patron saint of airpower. One of the books is written by Mitchell, and the other two are about him. Mitchell, of course, was a powerful crusader for airpower and would not fit very well in today’s hyper-joint environment. Just pointing this out. Read the list here.
